Our Church Leadership

Our Church thrives because of the energy and style of the people who lead it. Here are a few of the people that make our church community special:

The Rev. Dr. Jane Ann Groom -- Pastor for the Interim Time

Jane Ann came to us in December, 2016. Ordained in the United Church of Christ, Jane Ann graduated with an M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary, an M.F.A. in Theater Performance from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and a Doctorate of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion. All Souls Parish is the 10th congregation served by Jane Ann as pastor or transitional pastor in addition to scores of congregations she worked with as judicatory interm pastor in the NY Conference of the UCC. Her church service includes rural, urban, and suburban congregations. She calls Brooklyn and a tiny hamlet in the Catskills home, and she is delighted to be at home in Port Chester during her tenure with us.

Joanna Nilsen - Minister of Music

Joanna received her BA in music at Mt. Union College in Ohio. She went on to earn her Masters of Sacred Music at Union Seminary in New Y ork City. Before her service in Port Chester, Joanna served both Jewish and Protestant congregations in the Bronx, Bronxville, Pelham, and New Rochelle, all in  New York state.

Her two decades of service at All Souls has been a blessing both to her and even more so to the congregation. She works with the pastor weekly to make sure that each Sunday morning worship service is a complete whole. Anthems, solos, and incidental music all are focused on the theme for the day which is based on one of the lectionary lessons. This team collaboration better serves the needs of the congregation so that our worship of God is richer and fuller.
