Church History

Founded as a Presbyterian Church, our heritage dates back to 1660 when the first Puritan settlers established a settlement in Manursing Island in Rye, New York. The first church building was erected on Main Street in 1830. In August of 1852, The Presbyterian Church of Port Chester was chartered by the Presbytery of Bedford. Our present building on Parkway Drive in Port Chester was built in 1958. Today, the parish draws its congregation from the entire Sound Shore region of Westchester and Fairfield counties.

All Souls Parish is a Presbyterian community of disciples seeking to glorify God, to grow in Christ, and to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. We are called to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, to be a place of worship, healing, and prayer, and to further God's kingdom in the world. Part of our calling as a community of disciples is to worship God and express God's love through Jesus Christ to each other and to the community. To accomplish this purpose, we commit ourselves to:

• Teaching and preaching God's Word
• Sharing of sacraments
• Deepening our life of prayer and meditation
• Nurturing our children in Christian learning and love
• Reaching out in Christian service
• Practicing Christian stewardship of our time, talent, and treasure
• Witnessing to Jesus Christ in our daily living
